I know the game will not look as good that way, but I'd like to be comfortable and actually be able to read/see anything. The other solution I need to try (haven't quite yet), is to just play at a lower resolution. Going through Vault 15 it took me a minute to actually find the lockers on the wall because I was like 'Oh that's supposed to be a locker?' I have to lean in close to my monitor to see what's even going on sometimes. The text, character sprites, details in the environment to examine, all very small.
The main issue I have with it is I am playing it on a 1080p monitor, at my desk, and EVERYTHING is so tiny. I went for the 'purist' installation with no new content, but I'm wondering if I am regretting that decision if the other versions included some QoL changes. I googled this and found out about the 'Fallout FIXT' mod that fixes these types of problems. Tried to launch the steam version.instantly crashed with some error message. So I decided over the weekend I wanted to play Fallout 1 for real. Fallout 76 is finally okay after the Wastelanders update, but not even as good as 3 or 4. Fallout 4 was alright, but not as good as New Vegas. I played New Vegas when it came out and enjoyed it immensely. I'll admit that my first exposure to the Fallout Franchise was Fallout 3, and I enjoyed it, but bought and played a little bit of Fallout 1 and 2 but never got very far in either.
